Cookie’s career and interests have taken her across the globe. She received her undergraduate degree from UBC in Vancouver and attended The Sorbonne’s French Language Program in Paris. After graduation, she moved to Sydney, Australia, where she worked at a publishing company, before moving to London and Liverpool to work as an editor. Then she was off to New York City where she received her MBA from Columbia University (with Dean’s List recognition). After working at Bantam Doubleday Dell in New York, she moved to San Francisco. Focusing on corporate communications, she developed product names for Nissan, Microsoft and Ben & Jerry’s, new product concepts for Kellogg’s, packaging copy for Nestlé and sales material for Intel. In San Francisco, her first play was selected and produced as part of the Emerging Playwright’s Festival. With London calling, she moved back to the UK, where her first screenplay was optioned. Returning to Vancouver with a full passport, she worked as Managing Editor of Envisioning + Storytelling, where she met Bill Baker. She has written for dozens of hotels and properties around the world, from Hawaii to Cyprus, Munich to Miami. Her short film was selected for special screenings at Cannes, and her movie of the week screenplay has been optioned. She is dangerously close to finishing her novel. Really.
